Take a flight from Yangon to Dawei and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Explore Dawei, a peaceful seaside town and an important centre of Buddhism in Myanmar. Begin with the major temples, the PA SHU KYAUK PAGODA, with an impressive Buddha statue and SHIN MOUT HTI PAGODA, which was built in 1438 and contains a relic from the original Boddhi Tree.

Round up the day with a stroll downtown to soak up the unique atmosphere of the town, passing Chinese temples and colonial style buildings as trishaws and horse carts pass by.

Overnight in Dawei

Start the day by visiting Dawei’s largest fresh market, located near the river. Here vendors sell the day’s first catch of fish, fresh fruit, flowers, vegetables and meat. In the afternoon, head westwards to MAUNGMAGAN BEACH, stopping en route at the YEI BU HOT SPRINGS. Relax at Maungmagan beach before continuing to HMYAW YIT BEACH, the “Wishing and Waiting Beach”, and visit the HMYAW YIT PAGODA, a pagoda located just offshore on the water, next to a scenic bay and lovely stretches of beach. Relax at the pleasant beach before returning to Dawei.

Overnight in Dawei

Today’s eventful day leads to Sabar Taung, the rice hill. Begin the ascent, which takes approximately one hour before reaching the summit.

At the top, enjoy a panoramic view over the Dawei River and the surrounding mountains. This place is especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset. Thereafter transfer to the airport and take a flight to Myeik, a quiet seaside town. Enjoy a sightseeing tour in this peaceful town, walk along the waterfront and through the downtown area, passing colonial-style buildings, an old Portuguese church side by side with a Buddhist pagoda. Enjoy sunset at THEINDAWGYI PAGODA, also known as LAY KYUN SEO MI PAGODA, whose terrace offers a great view over the port. End the day at a local Chinese house to get the opportunity to observe the production of the bird’s nests.

Overnight in Myeik

Begin the day with a visit to the central market and thereafter gasp the opportunity to get to know Kala Kyun and Padet Island. Set out by local motorboat towards KALA KYUN, the Indian Island, stopping en route to visit a SOFT SHELL CRAB FARM. After arriving at the island, one can enjoy several hours to relax and sunbathe or swim. In the mid afternoon, head back to Myeik by boat, stopping at the twin PATAW and PADET ISLANDS to briefly explore and visit ATULA SHWE THALYAUNG PAGODA with its reclining Buddha image.

Today, discover different aspects of the local lifestyle and industries, visiting a LOBSTER FARM, a BETEL NUT, CASHEW NUT and CANDLEMAKING WORKSHOP.

Finally transfer to the airport and catch a flight back to Yangon. End of the tour.
