Overnight in Hanoi
Morning cooking class: Today's class begins with a walk, accompanied by the Chef of the Spices Garden Restaurant, to the local market, where participants get a chance to learn all about Vietnamese ingredients. After that, everyone rolls up their sleeves in the kitchen to prepare a proper Vietnamese meal. After the class lunch will be served in the Spices Garden Vietnamese Restaurant to sample all the different dishes prepared during the class.
This afternoon you will discover Hanoi. The Ho Chi Minh Complex, where we will spend a couple of hour to visit Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum, his former stilt-house residence, the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh museum and one pillar pagoda. Keep going to see the Temple of Literature: Originally built as a temple to Confucius, this is the site of Vietnam's first university dating back to 1070. The temple highlights the importance that Vietnamese society placed then and now on education.
After that we will take one-hour cyclo around the Old Quarter, known as the 36 streets, this bustling area of narrow streets is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. Originally, each of the 36 streets names' was related to the products being sold there.
Before we go back to hotel, we will have chance enjoy the unique Water Puppet show in theater located on the shore of Hoan Kiem Lake .The trip will be finished after the show at the hotel.
Overnight in Hanoi
Morning depart for Ha Long Bay, we go through the scenic countryside. The wondrous Ha Long Bay is truly one of Vietnam's most impressive scenic sights. Heading out of the town we embark on a boat for an exploration of the legendary Ha Long Bay. This exciting cruise will provide us a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. The limestone karsts formations are littered with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. Along the way we will anchor for a leisurely swim in a secluded cove and an enjoyable visit to one of the many hidden grottoes beneath towering cliffs.
Stay overnight on the Junk Cruise
Waking up and having breakfast served onboard. Continue cruising around the bay. Take sampan to visit Luon Cave and come back to the boat. Having brunch before disembarking and van will pick you up at the pier and transfer back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi at 04:00 pm. Free at leisure.
Overnight in Hanoi
Hue is known as an ancient Capital city of many original historical vestiges. There are more than 100 architectural works to be extremely reflected the life of Emperors and Mandarins under Nguyen’s reign. Situated in the middle of hills on the Southern Bank of Perfume River are very beautiful tombs of Nguyen Kings.
Transferring to the airport to catch morning flight to Hue. Our tour starts with a boat trip along the Perfume River to visit:
- Thien Mu Pagoda (The Heavenly Lady pagoda), from here we will have a good view of Perfume River and surroundings.
- Tu Duc King’s tomb, which is one of the most beautiful works of Royal Architecture of the Nguyen Dynasty. The tomb lies in a boundless pine forest.
Overnight in Hue
Y Thao is an ideal place for lunch or dinner: great food, a congenial host, and an unhurried meal in an attractive setting of gardens, ceramics and artworks. The main attractions at Y Thao garden house are the vegetarian and non-vegetarian Hue specialty dishes. The owner is a skilled chef and the food is delicious. Her recipes have been handed down through the family for many, many years.
She includes at least one of the Hue ‘Royal' dishes in the menu. This half day cooking experience at the restaurant is very worthy.
In the afternoon, we will visit the Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City; and Dong Ba market. Tonight we enjoy our Royal Dinner at a fine local restaurant in town.
Overnight in Hue
This morning we drive to Hoi An, we will cross Hai Van Pass where you will have magnificent view of the China Sea. Stop at Lang Co to have break. Visit the fascinating Cham Museum, famous China Beach and the Marble Mountains en route .
Hoi An. Known as Faifo to early Western traders, it was one of South East Asia's major international ports and today it still retains that special old-world feel. The architecture of Hoi An is characterized by a harmonious blend of Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese influences. After many centuries, Hoi An is still respectful of its traditions, folk festivals, beliefs and of its sophisticated culinary art.
In the afternoon, start walking tour around the ancient town to visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Pottery Museum, Tan Ky old house, the Cantonese congregation, the silk street of Hoi An, the temples and pagodas of Chinese appearance.
Overnight in Hoi An
If you have ever known Cao Lau, the famous dish of Hoi An, you also should know that one of the keys to its flavor is fresh raw vegetables from Tra Que. This small village is located on the banks of a lagoon, and for generations the locals have been raising vegetables that end up in chefs' kitchens all over the country. Today you will spend the whole day living and working among the villagers in Tra Que, learning how they raise and prepare vegetables. You will cook together and then have a lunch of Vietnamese dishes with the family. Back to Hoi An where you will enjoy a late afternoon cooking lesson At Brother's Café. First you'll travel by boat with the chef from the restaurant to the market to pick out ingredients for the lesson. Then it's back to the restaurant by cyclos where you will prepare three classic Vietnamese dishes. Enjoy dinner after the lesson.
Overnight at hotel in Hoi An
After breakfast at hotel, Transfer to Da Nang airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh city . In the afternoon, we will leave Saigon for the Cu Chi tunnels, otherwise known as the "Iron Triangle" or "Iron Land". On our way there we will drive through pleasant countryside; rubber plantations and rice paddies. Before entering the tunnels, we will see a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, followed by an exploration of the maze of tunnels, some of which have been widened to allow tourist access. Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500lb bombs dropped by B52 bombers. After that we transfer back to Ho Chi Minh city.
Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city
Leave your hotel at 7.30 for a 3-hour drive to Cai Be. Upon arrival, board a motorized boat to visit the popcorn cake, rice paper making family before visiting the lively floating market of Cai Be. Then continue by boat towards Vinh Long province to see the diverse fish traps in order to learn how the local people fishing. Cruise along small shady canals, stopping at Mekong river island to watch a typical and interesting music show of the Mekong cultural life.
After lunch we keep on cruising along river to see peaceful tranquil life of villagers, admire marvelous natural setting of Mekong Delta region. Transfer back to Ho Chi Minh city in the late afternoon.
Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city
Morning cooking lesson at the Vietnam Cookery Center. Chef will guide us through the colorful and vibrant Ben Thanh market to purchase the ingredients what are used during the cooking lesson. The lesson includes a market visit and lunch.
Afternoon tour of Saigon's historic landmarks including the Old Saigon Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, former Presidential Palace. Visit War Remnant Museum, where we can see countless artifacts, photographs and pictures documenting about the war. End of the day with a visit Ben Thanh market to see the abundance of spices, fruits, and foods used in Vietnamese cooking.
