This morning you travel to the underground village of Cu Chi and discover the incredible 200km network of tunnels where the Viet Cong lived and fought during the war. Back to Saigon for lunch. Spend half a day visiting the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Post Office, the former Presidential Palace and the War Remnants Museum before enjoying a local Vietnamese welcome dinner.

Breakfast at hotel and depart for Cai Be Floating Market. Experience the fascinating network of rivers in the Mekong Delta and journey, by motor boat, to the atmospheric Cai Be floating market to watch the locals trading. Visit a small family business and immerse yourself in the nature of Binh Hoa Phuoc village. Fresh river food, traditional folk music and a bonsai garden await you before continuing to Vinh Long. Disembark mid-afternoon and return to Saigon in order to catch the overnight train to Nha Trang.

Early this morning we arrive in Nha Trang and transfer to restaurant for breakfast. The day has been left free to explore Nha Trang at your own leisure.

Today you will enjoy a day of island hopping, starting with a trip to Tri Nguyen Aquarium on the Mieu Island. Continue on to Mun Island, the best place for snorkeling in Nha Trang and blessed with a wealth of colorful coral reefs and marine life. Have time to relax or take part in some water sports (by your own) at Mot Island or Tranh Beach Island. Transfer to the railway station for an overnight journey to Danang.

Upon arrival in Danang railway station, you will be met up our guide and transferred to restaurant for breakfast, then transferred to Hoian. Arrive in Hoian, start your city tour. During the tour you will visit the Japanese Covered Bridge Pagoda, first constructed in 1593 by the Japanese community in the city as a link to the Chinese quarters across the stream. Next see the Sa Huynh Museum which contains exhibitions from the earliest period of Hoi An’s history, and the Tran Family Chapel. Built over 200 years ago as a house for worshipping ancestors that moved to Vietnam from China around 1700, the chapel reflects the Chinese and Japanese influence in the area. You will also see the Phuoc Kien Assembly Hall, a Chinese pagoda built around 1690, dedicated to the Goddess of the Sea, and typical of the Chinese clans that were established in the Hoi An area. Finally, finish the tour with a visit to a Lantern Making Workshop and visit one of the many local tailors who can make up bespoke clothing at incredible prices.

This morning sees us heading along the coastal road towards the historic setting of Hué, travelling via the Hai Van Pass. With a stop at the Marble Mountain to see the five marble and limestone hills, you will then reach Hoi An at the midday. Enjoy lunch at restaurant, in the afternoon, visit the ancient Forbidden City. Next, start your Dragon boat trip on Perfume River and a visit to Thien Mu pagoda - Hue's oldest and most beautiful pagoda, thought to be the symbol of religion and spirit of the Hue people.

After breakfast, transfer to visit the Royal Mausoleums of Emperor Tu Duc, who ruled Hue over 100 years ago, before visiting the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Royal Tomb of Minh Mang. Later this afternoon we will then head for the railway station to board the overnight train north to Hanoi, Vietnam's vibrant and historic capital.

Upon arrival at Hanoi railway station in the early morning, you will be transferred for breakfast. Depart from Hanoi, travelling by road through the Red River Delta to the stunning Halong Bay. After being welcomed aboard, the relaxing boat trip will begin with a delicious seafood lunch. Later visit Sung Sot Cave and choose whether to climb the 400 steps up the mountain to enjoy a sunset view of Halong Bay (weather permitting).

Greet the day with a morning Tai Chi exercise with an opportunity to view the sunrise over the bay. Sitting on the upper desk we can enjoy the breath - taking beauty of the rocky islands rising from the crystal-clear water of the bay. We can hear the birds singing, cicadas chirping ashore and the gentle lapping of the waves against our boat, the perfect soundtrack to accompany the fresh air and gentle breeze. International Brunch Buffet served in the restaurant. Check-out on board and disembarkation at boat port, Halong city. Transfer back to Hanoi.

The capital city of Hanoi is often referred to as the ‘Paris of the Orient’. Today you will have a full day tour of this historic city full of charming lakes, parks and shaded boulevards. Your first stop will be the Ho Chi Minh Complex where the father of modern day Vietnam, affectionately referred to as ‘Uncle Ho’, declared the nation’s independence in 1945. Visit sites including the Stilt House, Presidential Palace and One Pillar Pagoda. Then drive to the Temple of Literature, built in honour of Confucius by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong in 1070. After lunch, visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology which offers an insight into the 54 different ethnic groups of Vietnam in an effort to preserve cultural heritage and promote socio-cultural diversity within the country. This evening’s highlight is a Water Puppet Performance, the unique form of Vietnamese art derived from the wet rice civilization of South East Asia.
