After breakfast at the hotel, be picked up and transfer to Saphan Taksin Pier. From there, embark on a longtail boat ride and sail up the majestic Chao Phraya River before entering the khlongs, a series of canals that lead away from the normal tourist trail to an area of Bangkok little-seen by outsiders. While exploring these unique and charming waterways, stop at Wat Khun Chan, an interesting temple that’s great for photos. From, there, take a small footbridge into some old alleys where a cold coffee can be enjoyed before entering Wat Paknam or the ‘White Stupa’ for a look at it’s hidden museum.

After getting back in the boat, continue on a beautiful part of the Khlong with a mix of old wooden houses and new modern mansions until reaching an orchid and fruit farm. Take a walk around and see the many types of orchids on display. On the way back to Saphan Taksin Pier, a stop will be made to feed the holy catfish in the khlong -a local tradition thought to provide good luck.

After heading back to the hotel, the rest of the afternoon is free at leisure until transferring to the airport in Bangkok for a flight to Chiang Mai, upon arrival in Chiang Mai, meet up with our tour guide and transfer to the hotel.

In the morning, explore the old and modern city of Chiang Mai, including its old crumbling city walls, gates, moat, eclectic markets, residential areas, foreign consulates, government buildings and Tapae Road, one of Chiang Mai’s main streets. Continue with a drive up to Doi Suthep Mountain for a visit to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. Built in 1384 AD, this is the most sacred temple in Northern Thailand. After ascending a flight of over 300 steps, reach the stunning temple complex and marvel at the gold-covered stupas at its centre. Also, be sure to stop for some photos of the fantastic panoramic view over the city that can be seen from here. Breathe deeply and enjoy the serenity of ancient Wat Jed Yod with its seven-spires stupas and Wat Suan Dok, where the ashes of Chiang Mai’s royal family are interred.

In the afternoon, transfer to Chiang Mai Airport for a flight to Bangkok. Upon arrival in Bangkok, transfer to Hua Hin.
