On arrival into Bangkok you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to one of the few green hotels in the city by the river, the Bangkok Tree House. Your bed for the night will be in a tree top nest, an alternative sleeping option which immerses you completely into your new climate and surroundings. The kids will love it!
Overnight in Bangkok
Introduce your kids to the glittering temples of Bangkok. See Wat Trimitr with its solid gold Buddha that weighs several tons, Wat Po and the famous reclining Buddha, the sacred Emerald Buddha and the Grand Palace. Whizz through the streets by tuk-tuk to Phahurat Market, in the heart of Bangkok’s Little India. Wander around the maze of stalls and shops selling all kinds of fabrics, ornaments and accessories before being taken back to your hotel for a well earned rest.
Overnight in Bangkok
Today, head to Khao Yai National Park about three hours drive from Bangkok for a jungle safari. Join your guide on a trek through grasslands to the wildlife watchtower and salt lick to spot animals. Then cool off with a swim at a waterfall before returning back to town. This evening head out again for a night safari and if you are lucky you might see the nocturnal animals that roam the park, such as large Indian civet cats, porcupines, samba and other deer. You might even see wild elephants!
Overnight in Khao Yai
Today stretch your legs with a five kilometre leisurely hike through one of the most scenic trails in the park. Your guide will help you to spot pig-tail monkeys and great hornbills, as well as some of the other amazing wildlife that can be found. After building up a sweat, next stop is Heiw Sawat Waterfall for a much needed swim to cool off before heading back to your hotel for dinner. After dinner, you will be taken out on another night safari into the park.

Visit the Ban Prasart archaeological excavation site and let your kids become the next Indiana Jones! Set up as an outdoor museum, it consists of three pits that have been landscaped and are open to the public. Bones and pots have been found dating the site as far back as 3,000 years. Then head to Bangkok arriving late in the afternoon and check into the Bangkok Tree House.

Learn the tragic history behind one of the world’s most famous bridges as you head to Kanchanaburi about four hours by road. Take a walk over the bridge at River Kwai, built by prisoners of World War II, and slave labour many of whom lost their lives during construction. After lunch, the journey continues to a lakeside village where you will board a Thai houseboat. Spend the afternoon swimming, relaxing on deck, or napping in a hammock as the houseboat slowly cruises around the lake.
Overnight in Kanchanaburi
Today the houseboat heads off along the lake, gently gliding past a traditional Mon fishing village built entirely on stilts. Soak up the scenery and the tranquillity of the lake. In the afternoon take a guided tour of Coconut Island, one of the few inhabited islands on the lake. It takes its name because of the 1,200 coconut trees that yield up to 500 nuts each week.
Overnight in Kanchanaburi
Wake up to the sound of the water gently lapping against the boat. Get set for a day of adventure starting with kayaking to small caves inhabited by hundreds of bats. Board a long-tail boat to reach a Karen hill tribe village and take a walk through the village and say hi to the locals. Then meet your elephant for a walk through the jungle followed by bamboo river rafting. Return to the houseboat in the afternoon just in time for snooze in a hammock.
Overnight in Kanchanaburi
Spend your last morning swimming, fishing and sunbathing on your water based home. Around mid-morning, a motorboat will take you to the village of Wang Kha, home to a number of ethnic minorities. Explore a picturesque temple and wander through a Burmese market selling crafts and jewellery. Continue to Sangkhlaburi via Thailand’s longest wooden bridge, where a vehicle will be waiting to transfer you to Hua Hin for a relaxing beach break.
