Vietnam is a fascinating country with a unique history and many worthwhile sites, making it a prime destination for sightseers and tourists alike. But for golfing enthusiasts, it also has another allure - several world-class courses and resorts with enough challenging holes to tempt amateurs and hardcore golfers alike.
The first place you’ll tee off is in Ho Chi Minh City at the Vietnam Golf & Country Club. This club’s challenging east course was designed by golfing legend Lee Trevino. In the city of Dalat, your golf game will be complimented by beautiful natural surroundings as the Dalat Palace Golf Club was designed nestled in the region’s hills and overlooking the Xuan Huong Lake. Further south, Phan Thiet features the Ocean Dunes Golf Club, designed by another legendary golfer, Nick Faldo. Its location offers a unique set of challenges from the wind coming in from the coast.
Each of the three destinations on this trip has something to offer outside of golf as well. The history of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon) is well documented and sightseeing opportunities centered around the town’s war-torn past are plentiful and worthwhile. Dalat is a European-inspired town with a charm unlike any other city in Vietnam (or Southeast Asia for that matter). The small harbor town of Phan Thiet is quickly becoming a popular tourist spot with many luxury resort that complement its golf attractions.
Both on the golf courses and off, this tour offers something for everyone and is a different way to experience Vietnam. If you’re an intense competitor with an eye for tourism and history, you may find this excursion a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The 6400 meters off the West Course were designed by Cheng King Shih, a renowned Taiwanese designer. In 1994, its inaugural year, the West Course hosted the first Amateur Championship in Vietnam. Its fairways are narrow and lined by trees. Its greens are mild but quick. The 6200 meterEast Course was designed by the legendary golfer Lee Trevino of the USPGA.
At the end of your game return to Ho Chi Minh City. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Transfer to Ho Chi Minh City domestic airport for the 40-minute flight to Dalat. Dalat is located 300 km from Ho Chi Minh City. Established as a hill station at the beginning of the century, Dalat is reminiscent of an alpine town with its French chalets and pine forests.
An afternoon of sightseeing in Dalat takes in Bao Dai's Summer Palace that sits on a hill just outside the main centre. Bao Dai was the Last Emperor of Vietnam and the Palace has been preserved exactly as he left it in 1954. It is a classic example of art deco that is a tourist attraction in itself. Continue the tour with the former Railway Station (in use only for an optional steam train ride) which is remarkable with its architecture and its old steam locomotive, Xuan Huong Lake and Lam Ty Ni Pagoda where a Buddhist monk, Vien Thuc, known also as the ‘mad monk’ for being eccentric produces his abstract paintings and writes poetry. Your will end the tour at the town's bustling central market, renowned for its fresh vegetables and fruit which are rarely found in a tropical country.
Overnight in Dalat
Today’s 18-rounds of golf will be at the oldest course in Indochina, the Dalat Palace Golf Club. Built in 1922 but expanded and restored in 1994, the Dalat Palace Golf Club is a masterpiece in design. Gently crafted into the rolling hills of Dalat and overlooking the majestic Xuan Huong Lake, the course weaves its way through stately pine trees to oversized and delicately manicured bent grass greens. In 2003, Golf Digest ranked the Dalat Palace Golf Club as the #1 golf course in Vietnam Patrick J. Rielly, the former President of the PGA of America, described the golf course as ‘one of the most beautiful courses in Asia .' At 7,009 yards in length, the par-72 Dalat Palace Golf Club is an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all levels.

This day drive on the panoramic route down the Langian Pass to Phan Thiet (4-5 hours). This area features a string of resorts between the fishing towns of Mui Ne and Phan Thiet offering a genuine taste of coastal life in Vietnam. Mui Ne is characterized by small, independent low-rise resorts and is an ideal destination for escape and relaxation. There are plenty of activities available both on the water and off, with a vibrant and dynamic kite surfing scene, great sailing courtesy of the brisk sea breeze, and the Sahara-like red sand dunes at Hon Rom to explore. Today, Phan Thiet is the home of many luxury beach resorts and of an international class golf course.
This afternoon is yours to explore Phan Thiet and the nearby beach of Mui Ne.

Today play 1 round of golf (18 holes) at Sea Links Mui Ne golf course. Sea Links Golf Club is built on an area of 160 hectares on a cliff with wild and beautiful sand dunes. The golf course is practically at the sea level with amazing views of the ocean below. The course’s designers, Ronald Fream and Golfplan Company, highlight that the course retains much of the original terrain of white sand dunes.
With a length of 7,700 yards from the tips, each hole has its own beauty and challenge. Notable are the long par fives and 2 island par threes. Heavy undulations are found on the greens and fairways making it as challenging as they come.
Return to the hotel. The remainder of the day is free at leisure. As always, your tour guide and driver are available to take you to see the local sites, like the local fish sauce cottage industry style factories, where Phan Thiet's signature nuoc mam is produced.
Overnight in Phan Thiet
This morning return to Ho Chi Minh City. Spend the day at leisure for some last minute shopping. Optional tours can be set up for those inclined to sightsee more.
